Screening PDF Print E-mail

Screens are essentially for pretreatment of waste prior to DAF, clarification or secondary treatment processes but in certain applications can be used as a sole pretreatment method. There are several types of screens available. It is important when selecting screens that the most suitable unit in terms of maintenance, cleaning, size of apertures and cost are properly assessed.

Bar Screens

EWT manufactures a wide range of Bar Screens for intake protection with aperture sizes ranging from 12mm to 200mm. Bar screens can function as a single stage screen or provide the first stage of a multi-stage screening process. Bar Screens can be either removable or fixed; - removable Bar Screens can be designed to be located in Stopgate guides (once the Stopgate has been removed) or located in purpose designed slots in the civil works and are sometimes lifted for manual cleaning. When automated operation is required or if manual cleaning is impractical then EWT can supply a comprehensive range of Raking Screens.

Bosker Raking Screens

EWT’s Bosker Range of Trash Rakes provide efficient and high volume debris removal for all sizes and types of water and waste waterraking screen intakes. Successful installations range from those at Shanghai’s main sewage treatment works in China, to major hydropower stations such as Pitlochry in Scotland and Tarraleah in Tasmania. Brackett Green has installed over 600 Bosker Raking machines. The Eimco Water Technologies engineers are able to inspect, advise and recommend the correct machine for any site, worldwide.

Both CF200™ and CF100™ screens regularly replace straight-through screens, step screens, raking screens and other less efficient screens on inlet works, outfall sites and storm installations.
